PACIFIC FUSION FASHION SHOW 2016

LOOKING BACK AT THE INAUGURAL PACIFIC FUSION FASHION SHOW HELD SEPTEMBER 3RD AT ANDREW SIMMS-BOTANY.

The first ever Pacific Fusion Fashion Show began as a competition for emerging Maori and Pacific fashion designers from South Auckland to showcase their style. It expanded to include designers from beyond the Pacific living all over Aotearoa. The fashion competition allowed these creatives to feature their designs based on their own unique cultural values, beliefs and identities.

The event was hosted by Miss World Samoa 2015 Latafale Auva’a and featured live entertainment by Exit Four44 of Crosspower NZ. Tongan Olympic flag bearer Pita Taufatofua walked our runway in his first public appearance following the Rio Olympics.

"I love when people are outgoing and make a statement. Something different and original is what I was looking for from the designers and the models. There were so many captivating designs and beautiful models."

2016 FINAL AWARDS

"I agreed to judge this competition because I believe it's important to represent NZ designers and provide them with opportunities to showcase their work. This event is a celebration of talent from a new generation of skilled designers, a celebration of the Pacific and a celebration of South Auckland."
